In Zambia, many rural communities have no local source of water. Water for drinking and sanitation needs to be brought from far away, mostly by young girls and boys. This time-consuming task, along with the lack of safe water at their schools, forces many youth to give up their education. People’s Action Forum is drilling new wells at schools in Chipata and Mazabuka, as well as upgrading existing wells in these communities to operate by solar power and provide irrigation to a larger area. The local community will benefit by being able to grow more crops to sell, and youth who no longer have to bring water from far away can stay in school.
Your Gift of $100 will provide more clean and safe water in Chipata and Mazabuka.
