Numerous people in the city of Bukavu in Democratic Republic of Congo have no access to electricity. Biogas technology can change that. Biogas is a renewable fuel produced when organic matter such as food scraps or animal waste is broken down in a process called anaerobic digestion. The Église du Christ au Congo (ECC) is training 50 women in biogas technology, from collecting the fuel through the final step of using the gas to power electric generators. The women will set up a biogas production unit which they will use to provide electricity for their community. Finally, the project will be shared throughout the country, wherever it is needed. Women become independent through technology, and then help others to do the same: a win-win!

Your Gift of $75 will help provide women with the training and tools they need to implement biogas production in Bukavu.
