Human beings are not for sale. The Diocese of Durgapur of the Church of North India works near the border with Bangladesh, where human traffickers abduct—or even buy—children and youth living in poverty and force them into the sex trade, domestic labour, or organ harvesting. The Church of North India operates safe houses that offer compassionate care to help them heal from this unspeakable trauma. Youth and their parents are also provided with training for secure livelihoods so poverty will not drive them to traffickers.
