Nearly one-third of the population of Colombia is moderately or severely food-insecure, many of them fleeing from violence elsewhere. Children whose families are food-insecure don’t get enough nourishment to help them succeed in school. The Colombian Methodist Church is giving some of Colombia’s children a healthy start through the free weekday lunch canteens it operates in the cities of Bogotá, Sincelejo, and Buenaventura. The church provides children with nutritious meals at lunchtime, along with snacks in the canteens after school. The canteens are also places for parents to build connections with the community and find resources to improve their families’ lives in other ways.

Your Gift of $65 will fund lunches and snacks for one child for a year.
