For more than 60 years, ECLOF (The Ecumenical Church Loan Fund) has provided microcredit loans to people—mostly women—in rural Myanmar. The COVID crisis, along with civil unrest, have severely disrupted the lives of the people who receive these loans. Markets are often closed, transport is erratic, and misinformation about the disease continues to spread. Through its Village Committees, ECLOF informs loan recipients about government initiatives, land rights, and health education that will help them weather these crises without losing everything their hard work has given them.
