In many parts of Africa, prisons face overcrowding and a culture of abuse. Little to no rehabilitation takes place, and prisoners often see no way to support themselves other than through crime. The All Africa Theological Education by Extension Association supports local church groups and Theological Education by Extension groups across Africa as they reach out to prison inmates. Through skills training and theological education courses, the inmates will learn about the importance of restitution to victims, and will be able to contribute to their communities after they leave prison.
