Grandmothers across Africa who have lost their children to AIDS are the people their orphaned grandchildren continue to rely on for guidance and support in many areas, including sexual and reproductive health and rights. The World Council of Churches’ Ecumenical HIV and AIDS Initiatives and Advocacy program helps grandmothers and grandchildren across Africa respond to those who say they are cursed by AIDS and provide a path to a secure and healthy future for the next generation.
